Where Compassion Drives Action
Friday Oct 11th 5 – 7pm
I5 at the Nobel drive overpass
University Town Center
Since February 24, 2022, when russia started its full scale invasion of Ukraine, it has been carrying out attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, civilian sector. Various energy generation facilities across the country have been destroyed or damaged, and thousands of hospitals, schools, universities and civilian buildings have been bombed. For the past 2.5 years Ukraine has been experiencing constant blackouts. russia’s objective in this genocidal war is to destroy Ukraine physically, morally and economically.
Every week on Fridays a handful of Ukraine supporters gather on the I-5 overpass with flags and large banners on the Nobel Dr. at 5:00 pm. On average 30,000 cars drive under that bridge every hour at traffic. Many of those folks don’t watch news or know what’s happening in Ukraine, so this is an important weekly reminder that russia is a terrorist state and still continues its genocidal war in Ukraine, and we in America should stand with Ukraine. Please, join us to raise awareness about the war and inspire Americans to act.
Currently, we need everyone calling their representatives and asking to put pressure on the Administration to allow Ukraine to strike back. Currently there is a ban on allowing Ukraine shooting military targets on the russian territory, which means Kharkiv and other border cities can’t be properly defended. If America is serious about letting Ukraine win the war, it needs to support Ukraine in a way such victory is actually possible.
Bring: Umbrellas (best option: blue and yellow ones from IKEA), signs, flags, wear yellow Ukrainian shirts, etc. Remember, we are trying to be visible to the cars below.
Sunday Oct 13th @ 2 – 4pm
Balboa Park @ El Cid Statue
1450 El Prado
San Diego, CA 92101 United States
Since mid January various supporters of Ukraine started gathering in Balboa park for weekly rallies calling for the world to Stand With Ukraine against Russian aggression. After the full scale invasion many of us promised to ourselves and the community that we will be gathering to Stand With Ukraine every weekend until Ukraine is free, peaceful and independent again. Since the beginning of the war tens of thousands have been killed, hundreds of thousands injured, and millions forced out of their homes. Currently the whole country has to live with scheduled blackouts since the enemy has been systematically destroying energy infrastructure all over the country, hoping to intimidate the Ukrainian population, force the Ukrainian government into submission and retaliation and to cause another wave of refugee migration to Western Europe.
Many are fatigued by the war, however, this is the largest war in Europe since World War II, that came with genocide against Ukrainian population, multitude of war crimes and utterly destruction of the infrastructure of the country. This war deserves our full attention because the entire world is affected by the war in Ukraine. On the global scale Ukraine plays an important role and we need to keep reminding the public about it. Our rally is to raise awareness and remind society that the war in Ukraine is not over! Please, join us to Stand With Ukraine.

Cultural Forces, the cultural arm of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, brings seven world class artists, professional musicians before the war, now active-duty soldiers, for a music tour in the United States.
The 60-day-long tour across the Southeast, South, and West Coast states will thank the American people for their thoughts and action for Ukraine at war.
Cultural Forces will perform for educational institutions, public sector and healthcare, church and faith communities, law enforcement, veterans and active-duty military, media, diasporas, and freedom-loving people from all walks of life, the fabric of American society.
World class musicians, Ukraine’s brightest talents, participated in some of the fiercest battles of the war. Several were wounded but after recovery returned to active duty. The group is composed of two bandura players, an opera singer, a violinist, a pianist, a country singer, and a poet.
Artists’ repertoire presents renditions of a wide variety of music, from Ukrainian and world classics to covers of popular hits and country tunes, featuring the traditional Ukrainian string instrument, the bandura. There will be an opportunity for interaction between the audience and the artists.
Don’t miss their San Diego performance on November 9th!
