San Diego, CA – July 15, 2025 — Shield of Freedom strongly welcomes President Trump’s announcement on Monday, July 15th, that the United States will provide air defense systems and long-range weapons to NATO allies for delivery to Ukraine. This bold and timely decision marks a critical step in helping Ukraine defend itself against relentless Russian aggression.
Speaking from the White House alongside NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte, President Trump confirmed the U.S. will supply Patriot missile systems and other essential equipment through NATO channels. He also issued a firm warning: if no peace agreement is reached within 50 days, the U.S. will impose 100% secondary tariffs on countries continuing to purchase Russian oil — a strategic move to cut off funding for Russia’s war machine.
This announcement follows a high-level delegation to Kyiv led by U.S. Special Envoy Lt. Gen. (Ret.) Keith Kellogg and a substantive meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Discussions centered on strengthening air defense, expanding weapons production, increasing sanctions, and charting a path to peace. President Zelenskyy expressed heartfelt gratitude for the unwavering support of the American people and government.
At Shield of Freedom, we have long called for stronger U.S. action to help Ukraine protect its people, infrastructure, and sovereignty. These new commitments will save lives — both on the front lines and in cities under constant missile threat.
We also urge swift passage of the Sanctioning Russia Act of 2025 (H.R. 2548), which will dramatically increase economic pressure on the Kremlin and its enablers using powerful, non-military tools. Sanctions work — and must remain a key part of any comprehensive peace strategy.
"Every day of delay costs more innocent lives. Every air defense missile Ukraine receives saves lives. It’s time for decisive action."
— Shield of Freedom
We encourage all Americans to call their elected representatives in the House and urge them to support H.R. 2548 — the Sanctioning Russia Act of 2025.
